Loom

Record your screen and camera and share AI-powered video messages with teammates and customers, from Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, or Chrome.

Loom is a screen recorder for video messages. You record your screen and camera, then share the video by link or embed it where your team already works, so teammates and customers can watch when it suits them instead of joining another call. Loom says millions of people across 400,000 companies use it, and Loom is now part of Atlassian.

Loom Overview

Loom records your screen and camera from its Chrome extension, desktop app, or mobile app, on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. The rebuilt Loom for Mac captures 4K video, records a custom area of the screen, offers camera bubble shapes, filters, and backgrounds, and hides its toolbar automatically while you record.

Every recording gets a link to share or embed, and Loom videos work inside hundreds of everyday tools, such as Google Workspace and Slack. Screenshots work the same way: each one gets an instantly shareable link and lives in its own section of your workspace.

Editing and Collaboration

Loom's editor trims and stitches clips, adds backgrounds, and overlays text, arrows, and boxes. People can add emoji reactions, comments, tasks, and calls to action to a video message. Transcripts and captions in more than 50 languages help remote teams communicate across time zones. Loom also offers video privacy controls and video and viewer insights.

Loom AI

Loom AI writes a recording's title, summary, and chapters and removes filler words and silences. Its workflows turn a video into a written document, such as an SOP or a pull request description, file a bug report as a Jira or Linear issue, or draft a message to send with the video link. Recorded meetings get AI notes, action items, and recap emails. Loom AI's automatic titles and summaries come in more than 50 languages, but its workflows write documents only in English for now.

Use Cases

Loom's site shows video messages for sales outreach, for engineers adding visual context to code, for customer support troubleshooting, and for design ideas and feedback. It also lists marketing, product management, presentations, team alignment, and education.
